Technical Passing and Receiving
Ideal number for the activity is 6 as that keeps all players involved with 2 balls starting on opposite ends. You can use 5 with 1 ball.
Activity starts passing and following your pass in a counter clockwise direction. Start simple to let players get adjusted to the passing and movement sequence. Focus initially on the quality of pass playing to the front foot and receing player getting in an open body position or on the half turn.
Progress: Receiving player now creating space by checking away then back on an angle.
Progress: verbal commuication and visual communication with proper eye contact and using open hand to ask for the ball on the front foot.
Progress: Receiving player take a quick final look over the shoulder to be aware of the space in determining proper 1st touch.
Progress: Change direction of activity to work on left foot.
Coaching points: Proper weight of pass to the player's front foot. Open body shape. Positive 1st touch to break the lines.
